first check would be the battery and then the alternator.. ... - .- -.

The recovery guy tried a jump pack onto battery, no joy, did not register the key etc. Have also tried the spare key and exact same problem. |

Sounds like a dead battery to me as well which could also be caused by a failed alternator. A replacement battery is not that expensive (cheaper than a trip back to the dealer) and even if the battery was 'OK' it would have been wise to replace it as a new owner. Also replace the batteries in the keys. Replacing the alternator is a bit more involved but not beyond a competent mechanic/ garage. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Just don't fit a new battery before checking out the alternator as the main rectifier diodes often go short circuit draining the battery very quickly. |

Really common on the 4.4 TDV8 for the alternator to fail and drain the battery.

This happened to me lots of things lighting up on the dash & within a few minutes the was dead, dead short in the alternator. |
