Denso Navigation ROM Drive

Hi All, does anyone know if the Denso drive unit in the boot, stores the user settings and trip destinations or are they stored else where in the information system, as when i stop the car and leave it for 10 mins it reverts to the default settings, if its stored on a chip in the drive unit looks like i need another unit. thanks in advance for any help.

Yep, they're stored in the Nav. unit. You can try reloading the software if you can find a bootloader disc.

Yep, that's the one - it won't update your bootloader as it's likely an older version but it should force a reload of your existing firmware, which may cure your issue. If not, there are plenty of 'for parts only' units on fleabay that have defective disc drives but the main board is OK.

The main purpose of the service disc was to resolve an issue with the screen, one of the side effects was to force a reload of the Nav. unit firmware - which is most likely your issue if everything is functioning as expected until a power cycle causes a reset to factory.

Thanks for the input Phoenix, I'll burn a disc and give it a go failing that I'll get another unit of the bay as you suggested, thanks.
