The car doesn't store the phone. It is 'deleted' every time you switch off and/or walk away from the car. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

Looks like you have to maybe connect a load of other devices to be given option to remove one.

The car only has access to the phonebook stored in the phone when the phone has a live connection via bluetooth. Once the bluetooth connection is lost, the car doesn't keep the phonebook, but it's obviously still in the phone! Whenever you start the car, set the car screen to Phone and you will see the phonebook and call lists are 'greyed out' to begin with. After a minute or so, the screen buttons become accessible, because the car has loaded the data via the bluetooth connection. However, once the bluetooth connection is terminated (by switching off the ignition or turning off the phone) the data is not retained by the car. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |

Perhaps not applicable but have you checked that your phone is set to ‘sync contacts’ with the car?

I’ve done all of the above (an earlier thread refers). The phonebook disappeared halfway through a drive. Something threw a wobbly and I haven’t seen it since. Everything else works normally.
