Lower glove box not opening

I'm getting layers of electrical issues. I haven't been able to tow because the never-fitted hitch had jammed its own lock mechanism. Now that's been resolved and securely fitted, I still can't tow because the trailer lights don't work, At all. I've checked fuses in the boot, now I need to check fuses that are behind the lower glove box... and that stopped working last Monday.

The upper box is opening as normal, no joy with the lower. Being a facelift 2009 MY with a digital dash, the normal L322 wiring diagram isn't right. Is there a fuse (ideally not behind the lower glove box) that feeds this switch? How do I get the switch out to check for voltage and maybe even false-feed the lower circuit to get it to open? Mike A

Could be something blocking the latch. Try pushing it closed while operating the button. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Many a true word spoken in jest...

By wedging my knees very firmly under the lid, the mech did abruptly release. Now the things inside have been rearranged, it's closing and opening without any issues.

Solved! And for free! Mike A

Excellent!! Glad to have helped. Wink

To be fair, I've previously suffered the same issue on my old 3.6 Vogue, so it was a bit more than a guess. Typically SWMBO tried to stuff far too much 'stuff' in there and the glove box mechanism revolted. Laughing The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile
