Lower Tailgate failing to close electrically

HI,
I have researched through all the posts within this forum and I can't seem to find anything that actually fits and or solves my problem!
I have had my 2013 L405 for a few months now and the lower tailgate functioned fine until I had the rear wiper replaced by a local garage.
Now it fails to close. It opens electrically fine however when you press to close it stops almost around halfway. The spring loaded boot area cover appears to sit flush open as does the lower tailgate as it appears to be horizontal

I have checked for any obstructions and there doesn't appear to be any.
The electric ram has been replaced with a new one, which hasn't helped at all?
I have attempted to follow the user handbook to reset it -this hasn't worked either!

My Icarsoft IID toll states that there is fault on the LH cinch device - or similar wording?

Does anyone perhaps any similar experience prior to splashing out and taking it to a dealer to fix?

Thanks in advance.

Worth checking battery health as part of your investigations Whistle “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Thanks for that it’s a new battery and is the same with the engine running too. Very strange.

Thanks for that Stan

I have read that part and then it begins to get very technical using Land Rover II D equipment?

I had a similar issue with the upper tailgate & replaced the anti-trap sensors each side to resolve. The sensors and wiring connectors are built into the trim panel.

I also bought the left / right sensors for the lower tailgate at the time but didn’t end up needing them - send me a pm if you’re interested in one or both 👍

They just clip into each side of the lower tailgate.

Lower tailgate failing to close - fixed

Hi all
Finally got to the bottom of this issue having replaced most of the components- snapped wire in the lower tailgate loom. My local Indy in wymondham Norfolk (Peter Scott
) sorted this yesterday. Many thanks guys.
