Think there should be a seal somewhere here …

Honest to goodness I do wonder about some so called garage mechanics… When I bought the car, they replaced the discs and pads which was fair enough. The rears needed replaced, and when I took the pads out, I found this on one side ... no seal and unsurprisingly now badly corroded.




Actually, my phrase more along the lines of: " AW C'MON TAE Censored " ... " STUPID Censored " ... " Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored " ! Whistle

So pistons being ordered and I might refurbish the rears with paint, but in the short term I've thrown it all back together with new pads.

What colour should I paint the calipers ? Rolling with laughter V8 or else ...

I cant say for certain it was the garage I bought the car from ... they may have simply replaced the pads and be done. ( Mind you, if so, then the previous service history of the car was LR dealer or LR specialist )

Its the first time I've had the calipers on the L405 off and although I've had various land rovers and cars over the years, I genuinely looked at it thought "thats different ... interesting ... caliper designs must have changed with new fancy hidden seals now ... cool "

till I couldn't push the piston back cause of the crud on it ... which then made me look at what they should look like, confirming my original " doesn't look normal thought " V8 or else ...
