I have a friend that has a 2007 3.6 tdv8 and he has a battery drain after locking, its 9.79 and after 20min its 0.31 and holding I have done some searching on other threads and we have pulled fuses but still not found it yet? 2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

I'd advise getting a low amp clamp meter for your fluke, then you can clamp it round each of the cables coming off the battery, whilst its still connected. That will narrow it down to which fuse box you need to check. With a 60ma draw, you will most likey have to use the millivolt votage drop testing method, leaving the fuses in as you check, rather than pulling fuses and looking for the amp draw to drop on the clamp meter, as pulling the fuse may well disturb your readings with such a small current draw. |

I would start with all the sound and vision kit in the rear cubby. Completely disconnect each device (one at a time) and test the drain. Start with the Nav DVD first, most likely culprit. .

Sorry, should have been more explicit - I meant clamp or direct measurement, clamps are fine for >0.5A (500mA) but suffer from drift on DC unless you invest a lot of money, for your issue, clearly direct measurement is best but be careful with pulling fuses as this can cause a spike in current draw which will blow the fuse in your meter.... As mentioned above, using mV measurement across fuses will be the best method in your case, there are tables available but make sure you're using the right one as they differ for the type of fuse in use. |
