How much power to interior lights use?

Was sitting on the tailgate of the FFRR earlier for some time and to my surprise the interior lights did not switch off at all. On past cars, the lights have switched off after around 2 minutes to save the battery. Knowing how flakey the batteries are on the FFRR I would have thought the lights would be switched off - especially as the tailgate makes such a nice seat at the races etc.

The interior lights turn off after 16 minutes.

From your manual:

NOTE: If a door is left open the lights will
automatically extinguish after 16 minutes, to
prevent battery drain.

They are 6 watt bulbs. If I cared I'd do the maths to work out for how many years your battery would run that for.

Turns out I dont.

If you're sitting on the tailgate with no doors open, just click the latch closed on the upper tailgate, it turns all the lights off so saves your battery. Just remember to press the tailgate release before you slam it closed Laughing 2006 Mercedes CLS

That's a useful tip! I often have to leave the tailgate ajar whilst carrying large things - it's OK during the day but at night the lights are irritating.

Thumbs Up
