It was my thought too. Despite the excessive cost, I’ll go for the silicone in your link. John

You could always sell the rest in 'finger dabs' onto cling film.... |

I assume that's why you're no longer in Glasgae? |

I’ve used Proslip on the Front Brembo’s; I had brake squeal and thought a good clean out and some “proper” lubricant on the rights parts would fix it. https://proslip.com/product/grease-for-brake-calipers/ It turns out that the squeal was simply down to the crappy cheap pads that came on the car. I’ve bought some Borg & Beck pads which will get fitted as soon as it stops raining ! I’ll probably use the Proslip system again when I put the new pads in but to be honest I’m not sure it really made much of a difference. TDV8 4.4 2012 |

I wouldn't use 'proslip' on front brakes as the operating temp is very low for braking. The modern replacement for copperslip on the back of pads is ceramic grease (Ceratec) which claims to have no melting point. Also I'm not sure Borg & Beck are quality pads as AFAIK the original (and well respected ) company no longer exists but the name was bought and reused. I researched pads when I did mine and went with Delpi in the end. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I've used 'Proslip' on many cars in the last couple of years and had good results. I would recommend it myself. |

@kevinp and Ramblin man yes it's fine. Just seems operating temp is way too low but it's obviously a specified product. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Why are you putting anything on the back of brake pads? Likewise on the sliding parts where the shims have a coating designed to promote movement - fair enough on the very few that are bare castings.
