Hose Clamps

I have a water leak and suspected it to be the valley pan gasket. Last night i got under the car and noticed the rear coolant hoses where my LPG kit has been tied into have a lot of dried coolant round the ends and could be the possible area of the leak. The current setup use's jubilee clips. I'm not a big fan as i think they strip easy and cant hold the tension very well. Is there another way of clamping the hose's and which is the best and strongest way?

Rob,
There are various quality hose clamps... Proper, SS jubilee clips (not the crap from halfords) are much more reliable.
Or you can use the twin ear crimp clamps but you really need the correct tool to fit them, or there are the spring steel variety as used on the P38...

Personally, I just use good quality jubilee clips and dont have a problem. You maybe need to clean the alloy corrosion off the fittings?

The fureing is where the LPG is tied in using a plastic T so no alloy corrosion. Could you rate the clamps in strength from strong to weak? What are the P38 ones like?

Hi Rob,
I had exactly the same with where the LPG water ties in. I used the T bolt clamps, verry solid.

Ok T-bolts it is then. Does anyone know off the top of their head which size I need for the rear coolant hose's or the hose size?
