Mine has 19" genuine alloys. When I put the chassis number into Microcat it comes up that mine left the factory with 18"s, so the previous owner must have changed them at some point, but it drives smooth with no issues.

i had 18'' when i brought mine, put some 20'' on and now i'm contemplating going to 19''...RRS wheels will fit and most of these are slightly wider so fill out the wheel arches better ...

I've just put my 20's back on for the summer months. They look so much better IMO. As has been said, there is a slight vibration when standing still for a period of time but just put it in neutral and its whisper soft again! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded |

Have got 20's on my 2005 TD6, slight vibration when idling in gear, but it's not to bad. Have also got 30mm wheel spacers on it, gives the car a nice looking stance. |

2006 facelift TD6 could be spec'd with 19" as an option - it was in the brochure - got one in a cupboard somewhere |

Thanks for the replies - I have the original brochure from 2002 which states that 19" wheels were not available/recommended for TD6's.Can not really understand why you would get vibration through the wheels when stationary though

Got 255 50 20 on my TD6. It drives pretty smooth and I always put t in neutral when stationary (got used to that after having a Discovery which was rough as he'll idling in gear). The previous owner had 19" as there is a receipt for tyres in the log book. He must have changed them not long before I bought it, don't know why.

Further to this question. The diesel engine is a bit more "lumpy" on tick over, plus it generates a lot of torque low down. This would have a tendency to make the car body shake. When stationary this movement is softened by the tyres. A higher profile tyre has more give and so this vibration is less noticeable. the issue is the tyre size not the wheel size really. 18" wheel has a higher profile than 20" wheel with the correct tyres fitted. It isn't really an issue if you just stick the car in neutral, that reduces the torque reaction.

Just for a comparison, I was cleaning my car this evening. Decided to put on my spare wheel for some pics. The car has 20" wheels with 50 profile tyres. Spare is 18" 60 profile.

I have the 18" on a TD6 I just sold and I really like the "Dish" style of the outer rim. It takes me back to the 80's |
