L405 5.0 - Whining sound from wheel area + engine sound

Hi all,

I just went to see an 5.0 L405 and need your help to confirm if the engine sound healthy and correct and what the whining sound from the tire area is?

My impression was that engine sound was different on each side of the engine, I do know lifters sounds on V8s (Had amg 6.2 in the past) but as I have never heard the 5.0 supercharger before I am not sure if it is all good.

There is a leakage of the exhaust system but I dont know if that is generating the whining sound.

All input is of interest as I need to bid during this weekend.

My 2p....

Can't hear a whining sound on the first two, very difficult to hear stuff recorded on a phone...

The engine ones sound about right, the 5.0 S/C doesn't sound very nice on tickover, more like a diesel than a petrol, well mine did anyway, can't hear any timing chain rattle on it...!! Pete

Thank you for your input!

On the second video, Whining sound 2 = https://youtube.com/shorts/n48SXW2zBsk It sounds like an air leakage that is increasing when I walk from the back to the front which is what I am concerned about.

If it's got an air suspension leak you can hear whilst stationary then it should drop with the engine off...

Lift the boot floor and listen for the compressor, if it's constantly on then you have a leak, it should overheat, cut off and throw a fault code, this usually doesn't take much time.... Pete
