New M74 extension now open

At a cost of £692,000,000 for a 5 mile stretch the new road opened tonight just before 8:00pm. It was supposed to open at 7:00pm and the traffic in the area was backed up waiting for the police to remove the barriers.

I decided to head along for a look thinking it would all be well under way at 7:30pm, but not a chance, it was total chaos and I decided to drive into Glasgow and turn around rather than sit in the queue of traffic, by the time I came back the new M74 had opened

This was the state of play at 7:45pm, I hope the traffic jams are not this bad once it's up and running. The queue for the new M74 opening on my left

Scotland 2006 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zermatt Silver

Just used it on the way into work, it's shaved about 3.5 mins off the journey time, I'll probably enjoy that more on the way home !
