the ID system is not reliable. In Bristol a friend had to get rid of his 2014 RAV4 and get a new Rav4 hybrid to be eligible for the new clear air zone. My 2011 4.4TDV8 is apparently allowed in. Who knows?? |

mmm, very interesting. a 4.4 tdv8 of 2011 gets in surely thats an anomaly...as my 2012 4.4 doesn't. and i know that a few of the older 4.4 petrols, from 2002-2005, have also managed to scrape through... possibly from the older LPG certified status, and riding the old 'alternative fuel' flag. again, my old 2002 didn't. ..and was LPG certified...

John, this is for the new Bristol clean air zone which came into effect today. I am definitely NOT free to enter London ULEZ. |

My 2011 4.4 tdv8 is allowed into the Birmingham clean air zone. My son's Nissan Juke and my wife's Renegade are not though! Go figure. |

Looked at some for sale, found an 04 plate one on eBay, ran the number on the TFL site, says it meets the standard , no charge. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165787506151 BJ04GNY 53 plate 4.4 that's compliant https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314242279806 Last edited by BMG on 28th Nov 2022 12:25pm. There’s no magic to it - if it’s petrol and you can show it meets Euro 4 levels of NOx emissions, it’s compliant. The database used by the TfL checker just checks for full Euro 4/6 compliance - it was full of errors to start with. I’m sure there are still cars that slip through and vice versa. |
