T90/T91 Remote Availability/Alternatives?

Hi all, firstly thanks for this forum - been very helpful so far and has definitely made the step into L322 ownership a lot less daunting! Pick up my car (2011 TDV8) tomorrow Very Happy

Was just wondering if anyone knows where I could get hold of a T90/91 remote (or alternative/workaround) for the FBH? My car has the Telestart module in the boot but no remote, and the prices for these on eBay have gone through the roof!

I had a search through previous posts but most seem to be from a time when these were still readily available on eBay and the like for a sensible price.

If anyone could point me in the right direction please it would be much appreciated.

Look forward to hopefully becoming a more active member of the forum in future once I actually have the car!

Cheers.

There was a topic on this recently:

You need to get the exact remote according to your chassis (of which there are 3 versions), otherwise it won't work. Ordering from main dealer with your VIN will probably be less hassle for not much more money (I think they're just over £100).

An alternative solution is to hook up a GSM gate opener to a timer switch, this will enable you to use your phone to activate the Webasto, but does involve some technical knowledge and a little bit of wiring.

If the remote is missing, there's a good chance the FBH might not have been run in some time. The fuel pumps are known to corrode and cause problems. Try firing it up from the infotainment system (ambient temperature will need to be below 16 degrees, so test late in the evening). If it doesn't work, you may also need a new fuel pump for it (not the end of the world and readily available on ebay).

Can be swapped over in 10 minutes with no more than a socket and extension:

Great thank you, must have missed that one - I'll give the local dealer a shout with the VIN and see what they say, with what people are asking for second hand remotes now it isn't worth the chance it might be the wrong one!

Oooo 1 more sleep….

Welcome….

I’m not sure there is an alternative, though some have done a mod so that you can operate it from your phone, but that might involve some cabling and soldering work.

Not sure if ones from other manufacturers work…

Pretty sure it’s a T91 you need. Has ON and OFF stamped on the buttons.

Cheers both, I'll try firing up the FBH tomorrow manually to see if it works and go from there. I'm not averse to a bit of soldering and wiring and the phone ability would be nice - but might try the easy option first and see if the dealer comes up with the remote for this winter, then look at doing the GSM stuff for next year...

I would. The other thing is that by the time a GSM gate opener and timer switch turn up from China, half the cold cold months are gone. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

You can still set it to come on at a set time using the screen in the dash, so if you know when you are leaving the house in a morning, you can still have the cabin a bit warmer.

The original Telestart is very simple system: it gives +12V signal to start the FBH, thats it. No any Can-bus signal needed to start it. You can easy replace it with whatever you wannt. Just use some swich, or buy another Telestart, or use some kind of GSM solution by mobile phone, or just connect direct from battery some wire.
Only difference is, LR Telestart is made for LR and its give +12V start signal for 30min and you can`t change it (and there is no point to change it, HVAC will stop your FBH anyway after 30min running time (or 20min for some markets).
