Steering problem

Hi!

Another thing.

I recently flushed, and filled the power steering fluid (Land Rover special fluid). because I keep having some sort of judder in low speed high steering input to the left. Not to the right at all...

Wheels are about new, recently also had a 4 wheel alignment done.

It is intermittent, hence really annoying to figure out.

I've checked for clogs in power steering hoses, no leak, no air. A friend helped me check the power steering pump - no noises what so ever. Its all fine until I'm almost full left lock. Steering rack seems fine.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I thought about engine mount or so but went to a LR specialist and he had a spin and thought that was very unlikely. Engine is not vibrating at all basically at idle or so.

Really weird its only on one side near full lock.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Sounds like a track rod outer ball joint binding to me. - does the steering self-centre OK from left & right hand turns?

Its funny, I checked the track rod outer ball joint binding, car self centers well etc.

In another thread in the forum Im on about changing gearbox oil and the more I flush the better the steering at full lock left side becomes. Could it be that the gearbox is vibrating because of incorrect oil and that somehow when turning left the vibrations touch the chassis somehow?

Unlikely but not impossible?

Its intermittent to so very strange. Fuji White 2011, 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE
