I’m trying to find one and it is proving difficult to track down.


Is there a model number for the wiring loom for the 2003 car?
I may have found a 2004 model at the wreckers with a loom, any diffetence between the various years?

Not sure about the year changes but if you find one you will have to go into the ccf file and tell the car you have wiring, otherwise, if you have rear parking sensors they will keep beeping when you select reverse. Over in the UK, we have to tell the car whether it's 7 pins or 13-pin electrics, they split into two sockets for 7 pins. and 1 socket for 13 pin.

It's odd yours doesn't have the towbar. A friend who worked for LR in Oz said all AU-delivered cars came with one.

My Australian-delivered L322 Vogue came with a towbar and electrics. It only has a single large round 7-pin socket. One day I'll change it to the standard 7-pin flat socket used here so I don't need adapter cables.

I don't think there is a CCF file on the 2003-2005 models. I've never seen on in mine when I've looked with IID Tool, Faultmate, or T4. Ron B. VK2OTC

Definitely no electrics or towball.
Appears to be all optional.

I’ve found a few from internationally online, but shipping kills it.
The storage box where it all would go isn’t even the same.

Yep, most wiring kits seem to come with the ECU.
(The white box with bmw / siemens vdo writtwn on it?)

As every Australian market L322 should have a tow bar and electrics it can't be that hard to find one in a wreckers, BMW x5`s of the same era have the same part. Then the fun begins as on both my Oz cars I have had to rewire the socket to Oz spec, both have been wrong and UK spec. Things get worse if your trailer has LED lights as most do, you will then have to overcome the constant flashing, this can be done with relays and load resistors, quite complex but I managed to make a plug-in box. I think there is a company that will sell you one. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Managed to find all the wiring and control.
No idea how to tell the car I’ve installed it all.

OBD2 app doesn’t appear to have any options for editing the ccf.

Re trailer LEDs, I was going to build one (I was once an electronics tech) but saw one of Labtronx units on AULRO for a price I couldn’t resist…

My caravan is old school, no LEDs anywhere. So no issue with that.

Didn't have to configure any CCF or the like, the car just automatically picked up the controller and everything sort of worked...



Except it doesn't.

When plugged into the a trailer light test rig, everything works as it should. Brakes, indicators etc. just fine.
But when plugged into my caravan. Nothing.

Can't work out why.

By default the car is set up to be 'on' for 7 pin. Only need to change the CCF according to the loom and socket you have.

The core 7 will always work though. Being brake, tail left, tail right, left indicator, right indicator, fog, GND. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

So,
crossed over the reversing and brake wiring. (my caravan has no reverse lights).
Stripped and re-wired up the earth and everything lights up.

I think it might not have been drawing enough power or the earth wasn’t quite good enough.
