No idea if it's surface rust or deeper from the pics. You would have to give it a good poke with a screwdriver to tell or get it expertly inspected. Maybe use it as a negotiating factor for a price reduction but as I said all UK L322's will have rust issues. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I would really ask the seller if you can check behind the sills before buying. I bought a 2002 L322 back in March and last month had both sides welded due to the rust. I had known about 1 side as the rust was visible above the sill/on the arch but didn’t know it was as bad as it turned out to be. Didn’t know about the other side. See attached some pics of how bad it can be once you start poking. I would already be especially concerned about the picture which shows a little bit of rust above the sill, probably very bad under the sill.

In France when you took it (or any car from UK) for an MoT equivalent and it went up on the ramp, the comment would be "un anglais" Last year I had mine done for rust. Started with new panels but ended with fabricating cills. £2600 John 2008 Stornoway Grey 3.6 Tdv8 Vogue 2005 TD6 Java Black Vogue - Written off!! Thanks for sharing this. I will ask the seller. The reason I reached out expressing interest to buy was on the basis of little to no rust. How much did this set you back in €? |

2,300 euros. That’s without adding new paint, just having a thick protective layer. So basically to get it through Dutch MOT and avoid it really rotting away so I can keep driving it.
