@Stan, well researched, re that thread.

Makes me wonder, did they have a certain batch of poorly-baffled tanks over a certain build range, and if so, which vehicles were affected?

And wondering further:-
I wouldn’t be happy at someone stuffing a load of foam down the filler pipe, foam is plastic and diesel/petrol a hydrocarbon solvent, so what happens over time, if the foam starts to break down in there? Shocked

I know, I’m paranoid. Big Cry Sad

Easier to keep the tank topped up, also very useful when heading for the hills come Armageddon…….. Rolling with laughter “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Lol get you there! Is there a good way to replicate tank slap? I mean I get tank half full but then like reverse then straight in to drive etc, the thuds I have is about 40 seconds after driving off etc

It's a similar type of foam the MoD should have been putting in the C130 wing tanks - would've save a few mate's lives.

Anyway, it takes up a couple of litres of capacity, is a pain in the @rse to fit and doesn't degrade or block filters, it's not the same as the stuff cheap mattresses are made from.

40 seconds doesn’t sound like fuel slosh at all, which would be almost instantaneous after acceleration/deceleration, max 1-2s I would have thought. Maybe an auto gearbox issue, have you flushed/changed fluids in good time? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
