yellow tool should be in the boot, under the wheel cover, on right in a slot. |

Rear shocks ( genuine Bilstein) are £200+VAT each from Island 4x4 and more ( a lot more) from other places. Fitting them is pretty easy DIY as long as the lower bolt is not seized. Aux belts , idlers and tensioner replacement is a normal wear item on these engines but DIY is a bit tricky due to the amount stuff to remove to get to it. Check for oil leak down the back of the engine and oil in the coolant expansion tank as the other common fail is the oil cooler but you may be lucky and it's already been done. Rest should be no different to your SC. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

i think the later 'active' bilstein dampers are more like £450 a pop. - as i said, watch/read Sam's dilemma.... https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic59154.html mine is fine, if i'm ever up your way, i drop in, and you can drive it. |

I was quoting for the late active dampers but as I said the prices vary quite a bit depending the supplier.

Usual reason is the wiring at the top of the shocks - it's like all the wiring on these vehicles and has no sleeve on the last few inches so easily get severed with wear and insulator age. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

..possibly, its the reason it was traded in. so, you might find, you got a car, with a problem, that you can sort, and the 'unknown' then becomes water under the bridge. |

Wiring to all four shocks is fine, no chaffing anywhere...
