USB

Any ideas why the USB in the cubby box is completely dead? Anyone done an upgrade to the fitted entertainment system, if so what unit was used and was fitting relatively straight forward. Still looking for workshop manual for 2012 full fat with V8. Seems to be confusion if this is to be paid for, 100 days a member with a high level of posts etc etc. If available where is it, pretty please?

You need to make sure the USB stick you are using is formatted to FAT32…. Might do eFAT too, can’t remember. The Workshop manual in the Wiki should still be downloadable.

No connection at all, no charging totally dead USB

It won't charge anything. Its designed for memory sticks only really.

That's because I think the port is 0.25A so, is only 1 watt ‐ probably not enough for most modern rechargeable devices to even register a charge.

Just grab a 12V QuickCharge 3 adaptor from Amazon. Mine charges my phone just as quick as my fast charger at home. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Yeah, it’s not meant to be charging anything, it’s for playing music on a USB stick.

The connector on the back of my panel can become disconnected if the panel is unclipped, which it is prone to doing if not held in place while unplugging a stick, as the wiring is quite short.

Thanks to everyone, finally got my car back after 2 months. Seems OK except for a few niggles. Fingers crossed

Usb working fine, also got cigar lighters fixed with a fuse replacement
