New Zealand 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Oslo Blue
Finally - got my new Vogue

After a couple of months of looking at some tired RRs I finally found a good one and picked it up today.

Photos to follow but it's an 03 Vogue in Oslo blue with cream interior. I think it's lead a fairly hard "supermarket and school run" life with a fair bit of light cosmetic tattiness (light scratches everywhere, loads of chips out of the door shuts from seatbelt buckles etc) but nothing that a couple of weekend's work won't sort out.

The thing that really swung it for me is that it's a one owner car with more service history than I've ever seen on any car I've previously bought. The owner clearly had a few quid (based on his address) and basically sent it back to the main dealers for everything. New wiper blade needed? Better get down to Land Rover. It's got 77k on the clock and had a new gearbox 18 months ago on top of everything else.

I'll be sorting a few niggles tomorrow so am off to the technical pages now.

Congratulations, welcome to the wonderful world of Range Rover ownership, not without it's challenges, but well worth it!

You're in the right place anyway, you'll find these pages and many of the members a font of RR knowledge! Very Happy Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I'd say it looks good, but you've committed a crime in not posting a picture Mr. Green

Hope you enjoy it. I'm certainly still enjoying my first one a few weeks into ownership. Thumbs Up

On a long run the temperature gauge will usually be in the middle but every now and again it will climb up to the 3/4 mark before dropping quickly back down to the middle. It's the sort of thing I might expect if stationary and the fans kicking in but not at a steady 70. Forum says - flush the coolant and refill.

The middle phone light keeps flashing but apparently that's because the sim isn't in. I don't actually have a phone fitted so not entirely sure how to fix that one. Confused

Final problem is that the radio and TV is very echoey. No idea what's going on there.

Good choice! Thumbs Up The temp problem could be a sticking stat or an airlock. Use the hidden menu to see what temp your actually running as the gauge is notoriously $hit!

I've checked for airlocks and all seems ok.

I guess I'll have to use the hidden menu and go for a very, very, very long drive to see what the actual temperature is. Oh well. Mr. Green

That's probably just the current DSP settings. Access from the main menu.

Thanks! Thumbs Up

I'd found the bass/treble but that didn't help.

Must RTFM more carefully Embarassed

There are presets in the DSP so clasical, theatre etc. You may have one of them selected. Where and which menu there in I can't remember.
Have you used the little vent screw on the coolant tank to bleed air out the system? Heater has to be on full bifters when you do this. After that I would suspect a sticking or faulty stat. Not expensive and easy to change. Are you loosing any coolant?
