finally got mine on a proper lift the other day to have a good look underneath and noted to be fair not a lot which was pleasing, however did note that there is a small rectangular hole through which I can see the starter ring in the bell housing. Am I correct in thinking there should be a cover on this or is it like on my disco to be fitted when wading?

I'd say its about an inch by inch & half (sorry still work in old money!)
