If blanked the EGR is still opening and closing even if there is no gasflow so ideally they need to be mapped out. I'm not sure if they fail and break up that the blanking plate stops the bits getting into the turbo/engine as there may be another pathway. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I think maybe my blanking gasket has blown as I am getting a rise in temp at the inlet temp sensor and a drop in flow through the maf so it looks like an egr issue and a blown blank. Bit of a suprise as i had both egrs replaced about 4 years ago under warranty. I can't strip it yet as not home but surprised if the blanking gasket has blown. I prefer it looking original so won't be doing the pipe removal and will make stainless blanks next time. At least I can do a inlet manifold clean and replace intake hoses with silicone this time... Still love it though... 2018 L405 Autobiograpghy

Is it a 3.6 or 4.4? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I assume it’s the 3.6. What did you make the blanking plate and gaskets from? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Yes its the 3.6. I made the blanks from some thin steel plate, I can only assume they have burnt through somehow. I wont know till I get home and pull them apart. 2018 L405 Autobiograpghy

Unlikely they will have burnt through as the gases are cooled via the EGR cooler before they go into the intake. You may simply have a leak somewhere? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I wondered that but the symptoms I have are exactly the same as a leaking egr. At idle one intake temp rises substantially, the MAF records a drop a drop in flow and I sometimes get intake temp correlation error on A & B which is due to the high temp discrepancy. (seen 35 degrees and 56 degrees) with restricted performance which clears itself as the engine revs rise and the temp drops back down.

Update.. Egr sticking open and burnt through the thin gasket plate I used. Otherside was fine.. So replacement egr, second hand and proper blanks requiring egr pipe removal on order.
