My bet is that it'll prove to be a wheel bearing, despite them having been checked out. I have a ffrr but haven't ventured into much of it but based on my wife's Shogun, which seems to eat front wheel bearings, I've found bearings can be noisy and pass genuine mot's, and although not sure, I suspect the ffrr design isn't much different to the Shogun, which is very different to a setup on a typical rwd car.

Yeah I hope your right to be honest I’m still convinced it could be a wheel bearing might just bite the bullet and the front 2 replaced. I hope it’s not transfer case related then again it would make the noise on turning left and right if was surely.

I had a Disco 4 making similar noises. Wheels off, proper thorough check. Wheels on, pulling and pushing, no play whatsoever.

Had a 330 bmw, was sure it was the diff whining, wheel bearing in the end was the culprit, another vote for bearing here |
