Steering Angle Sensor Plastic insert bushing

[img]Hello all,
I recently had to replace my steering sensor. The new sensor does not come with the plastic insert with keyways to attach to the drive shaft. Mine is broken, one of the 2 clips has failed, Unfortunately neither BMW or Land Rover show this part in the parts catalogue and so does not have a part number,

I have a TD6 L322 Vogue 2004,
The whole in the middle of the steering sensor is obviously too big and needs this poly/plastic part to interface with the steering column,
Does anyone know if somebody makes this part or where i can buy one?
also my new sensor wont calibrate for some reason, further investigation required,[/img]

I havent seen the part on the L322, but mine failed on the D3 (failed to connect properly with the steering shaft) and we araldited the disc in place. Would that work? We had to remove the column to do it and that was rather involved but the araldite formed a good bond between the steering shaft and the disc that spun the sensor.

Well finally good news, another steering sensor fitted and car started, no failure lights and all is working, its been nearly a year of garage visits and abs cable changing etc but now very pleased to get back to normal,
something to note... when buying abs cables as a set or any i found that the full set of 4 cables were all the same length, not so the rear are longer, also i found that the cables resistance was not correct so the rear left abs was displaying speedo at double real speed, this had the effect of restricting the engine at 250km hour which was on gps speed 119 kmh.
So in summery, good car battery, good abs cables and a good steering sensor.
