My D350 HSE order confirmed in Dec 21 includes 'Electronic Air Suspension and Dynamic Response Pro' as standard and this is still included as standard on the builder today. There is no option to add anything else suspension wise.

I have missed something? Which spec diesels are you referring to?

Yes, you may have missed it. My D300 HSE order has these items as standard but, if you try to spec the same today, they are Cost Options.

I observe that the PHEV cannot be specified with the Cabin Pre Heating option. If this isn't due to a technical constraint, I hope it will be added as an option soon. If so, I think that at least the Norwegian importer will include Cabin Pre Heating as a standard option, similar to the other variants.

Does the cabin pre-heat off the battery when plugged in like some EV's do? MY23 D350 HSE

Seems that the P510e has "Electric cabin pre-conditioning" as standard equipment, but this is not listed on the P440e. Must be a mistake!

Does anyone have any more insight into the PHEVs not being configurable with 23 inch wheels?

I asked my dealer today and she said it was similar to the L405 PHEV not being available with 22 inch wheels, but a glance on Autotrader shows plenty of PHEVs with those wheels.

Personally I am struggling to love any of the 460 wheels but these 23 inch wheels caught my eye. (I am thinking of Belgravia Green over Caraway).

I can’t believe they won’t fit as surely the rolling radius is the same, so assume it is to do with achieving the claimed EV range and performance.

Also note you can’t order the PHEV with a full size spare - suspect that is a packaging issue.

I was told that it was a weight restriction issue (so presumably you could put 23" on afterwards)
PHEV can only be skinny spare wheel or aerosol can.

The configurator is now up and running

We're in the ordering pool for a P510AB SWB, but consider changing back to the P440AB model due to that the P510AB cannot be delivered with 4-zone climate (in our market at least) due to weight restrictions. Such a change would require adding the "Dynamic response pro" + "torque vectoring" options for the P440AB (which then should make that P440AB vehicle equally heavy as a P510AB?).
However, it's a heavy vehicle, and the tuned 3-liter in the 510 has 700 Nm of torque, when the P440 has "only" 620 Nm. Do you think one would regret going for the P440 variant? I.e. when the batteries are emptied, and you rely solely on the straight six Ingenium engine?

80nm are a lot to miss.
My decision was P510e, for 2.8 tons it’s still not a lot of power.
I am coming from a P525 RRS, before I had a P400e, it was underpowered.

Therefore I think the P510e will be more balanced than a P440e.

Erik, if you don't, (or aren't able to) select 4 zone, doesn't 3 zone come as standard, and would 3 zone not work for you?

I'm just about to order an SV P510e standard wheelbase, and noticed that the 4 zone is a £980 option!!

Am I right in thinking that 3 zone means 2 zones for the front seat passengers, and one zone to the rear?

If my assumption is correct, I'll forgo the £980 4 zone option, as I don't carry rear passengers.

Yes, we have 3-zone in our current L322, but with mostly adults in the rear seats on longer journeys, we thought we should spec our new dream car (for years to come) with the nice, individual comfort options (Executive Class Comfort / hot stone seats ++). That spec doesn't fit well with the 3-zone, IMO. Ideally we would have the Power Assisted doors as well, but that option is being postponed to MY24...
Now we either will have to keep the P510AB spec but with just std AB seats and 3-zone, or downgrade to the P440AB engine but keep the individual comfort hot-stone options and 4-zone. First world problems indeed!

I fully understand Erik - We have an L405 which will be going at some point, but we've owned our L322 for 8 years now, and have no plans to ever sell it.

If this next one is going to be "a keeper" and with you for many years to come, I think your right to try and make the spec as perfect as possible Thumbs Up

The PHEV engines are on the builder now.

Would the likely performance and economy of the P440e be similar to the P400 when the battery was drained? Or given the battery provides c.140BHP, would the petrol engine be more likely a 300BHP version of the petrol 6 cylinder with reduced performance and possibly economy give the extra weight of the PHEV?

Still an unanswered question, Phil!
I guess the 3.0 straight six engine in the P510e is identical to the engine in the P400 model. But what have they done to the I6 in the P440e then? No supercharger? Or just different tuning? Anyone knows?

P440e and P510e are just different states of tune - they're turbocharged, not twincharged like the P400 MHEV.
