L322 Denso Satnav freezing

Hi Forum
I expect this has been done to death but I could do with a pointer or 2! My Denso sat nav screen freezes, it is fine first thing in the day and is OK until you stop for a coffee or comfort break. The screen then freezes shown the location where you stopped.
If you park up for several hours it all starts working again.
On a few occasions the screen has gone to a series of wavy lines but this does not last too long, once again a long park up and all is well again. I have taken the DVD player out and all other functions on the touch screen seem to work better than they have ever done.
Has anyone had this and if so any clue as to cure?
Many Thanks
Big J

Big J,

This may or may not prove useful.

A problem I had with the radio in my TD6 was that audio would periodically stop/switch off.
Switching the radio off and then on again would resolve it, but only for a minute or so.

Fixed in the end by always remembering to switch the stereo off before switching off the ignition.

I'm guessing (possibly quite wrongly) that the cause may have been an accumulation of static charge.
And that switching off the stereo rather than relying on cutting power to it via the ignition allowed this to dissipate.

No guarantees obviously.
But so easy to try, you've nothing to lose.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.

And one or two bikes - Ok, maybe more than one or two....

HiYa
Thanks for the thoughts. Soon I am away with the beast and trying a trip with the DVD player out to see what happens to the screen then. If it seems OK that would point to the DVD unit playing up. I am taking that away with me ad can then refit it to see if the problems start up again. In the meantime there is always Google maps and Waze on the phone!

Mine had the symptoms you describe. Turned out it was the nav unit on the way out. John

Thanks. That is the conclusion I have come to so far. This next trip should prove it one way or another I hope.
Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the tip. As a matter of interest was the corrosion inside the unit or on the multiplug that connects it?

Have you ejected the DVD & had alook at the back of it?. If it's heavily scratched, then the units on it's way out.

I had the same issue, Sent the unit off to a guy on ebay - Still going strong 4 years later Thumbs Up

Thanks. I take it that is the guy in Manchester?
From what all have said sounds like I am on the right track.
Glad to know that someone has used the guy with good results.
If my testing in the next 2 week confirms this I will give him a try.
