Anyone recognise this mysterious device? L322 2011 4.4 TDV8

*not on my car. I'm just intrigued from seeing it on another*

Anyone recognise this mysterious device plugged into the MAF sensors on the nearside airbox?

My assumption is that it's a cheap tuning box which fools the sensors. Can anyone confirm / recognise the manufacturer?

Yup that looks like one of those original tuning boxes that gave tuning boxes a bad name, especially if it just alters the maf signal. Change it for a proper one Mr. Green

If it's on a TDV8 4.4 and it's attached to the MAF sensor (top of the picture) it won't do much at all. Typically diesel tuning boxes go on the fuel pressure sensor to increase fuel and hence power. Messing with the MP sensor is likley just to throw a fault. Also the N/S airbox feeds the 2nd stage turbo which only 'works' above 2.5krpm. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Unless I’m mistaken on the design of the 4.4 it is indeed both the pressure of the fuel rail and the duration of the injectors that get changed. A decent box can have a few preset maps, but also allow some altering via the phone. And can add optionally also a map to the throttle and even produce a gearbox flash.

Those maf boxes do indeed cause a lot of issue when they are at a level you feel like it’s doing something. It’s fun opening them up as they consist of mainly how air 🤣
