2019 Range Rover Vogue 2.0 PHEV Santorini Black

Prices have gone up this autumn, so:

Gas: 1.2EUR

KWh home: 0.16EUR

KWh chargers: 0.20-0.30EUR, but there are many free chargers to encourage EV, so I mostly use those (for the I-Pace, it makes no sense to charge a PHEV elsewhere than home or at work) ...

It's OK, however: minimum wage: 465 EUR/month;
average income: 1100 EUR/month...

Probably that's why prices are a little lower here...

Salaries look very tempting.

Actually, there are many French, Italians, some German and Belgian persons that live in my city!
This puzzles me, as young Romanians leave to study & work abroad, while we have many foreign students coming here and also many Europeans retiring in the cities or villages!

Could not agree more. I've been running a 2021 PHEV Velar and while it is a very nice vehicle, the actual range is still really small. Running a Tesla on long trips is so much easier, despite what people may think from the get-go and such a smooth quiet drive.
I've asked the sales rep at Guy Salmon, lovely gent, but they don't expect PHEV 460 before 2023 and EV 'before the end of 2025'... l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

After the car had fully charged over night, I removed the connection to the car, tuesday morning.

The charger remained plugged in. Two days later it used.. .. around 1 Watt...

So you can keep it plugged in, as long as you keep the other plug out of reach (children fingers, be ware..).

I re-connected the cable to preheat : 16 mins and 637 Watts later, the car was warm enough !

To my surprise, just after reconnecting, the app not only said 'climate control active' , but also 'charging 23 min' .

Apparently the battery lost 7% charge by standing around ? Below, righthand side of image.

Now the app says charging will take 8h and 10 min. Much more then the previous 7h 10 min.

This time, 25,7 km EV. And 11,6 km not (pure) EV. And 8.3 km EV range 'evaporated', (top image EV range 34km).

We will have to wait until the car is charged to work out what the cost were of the EV driving today.

I played around with the settings, keeping the 'my EV' screen on. I used the 'preserve' button to end up with

enough juice to drive the last two kilometers full EV ( veryfied on the navi, I entered my home as destination),

knowing there actually were 3,5 km left to drive..

And the car stayed in EV after I pushed the button, 3,5 Km.. .. magic..

In 'preserve' mode surprisingly the system does let the car run in 'EV only'. I didn't expect that.

But also you can see (animation on the screen), that the system feeds the traction with EV while the engine is on, for support.

You see both brown and blue chevrons under the wheels and in the tracks.

I think this doesn't count as 'EV kilometers' , that is what intrigues me with the range on the top image.

This went down from 312 to 302 (see time left top), so - 10km range. The car did actually 11.6 km more

then the indicated EV distance covered. I guess the 'mixed mode' is 'lost in translation'...

Update 10dec :

We have a verdict... 17.1kWh charging to 100%

EV distance was 25.7 km.

So 17.1 x 0.16 = € 2,74 (€ 0,158 / km).

Last time, fuel consumption full ICE was 8.8 L/100km, ( € 0.167 / km).

If the same distance had been covered with ICE --> 25,7 x 0,167 = € 4,30.

So this time I saved € 1,56 or (total trip 37,3km) , € 0,042 per kilometer. I-pace First Edition Santorini & 2nd car Mazda MX-30 Advantage red/black

Oddly enuff I parked L322 v8 up on the drive on Monday with half a tank of petrol got in it today.........Still had half a tank, whats going on ?.

Just start it once, don't drive it, you'll lose 2 gallons...

One a different note, I just learned that my Dutch is old fashioned. I thought Polestar spelled actief wrong, I always spell it like aktief. But with a little google I learned I'm using the old form. Damn, I feel very old now. All your fault Dan Velum
