2006 4.2 supercharged.

A few weeks ago, i was getting P2601 coolant pump circuit.

Having read all about the wiring issue, I bought a new pump and fitted it, checked the wiring was correct when putting it back and all seemed well.

But today towing i got the same warning!

Any clues what it could be now?

P2601 is typically set because of electrical (CP-A circuit) issues but can be caused by mechanical issues, such as a mechanically stuck impeller on the electrically driven coolant pump. Both electrical and mechanical issues cannot be overlooked in the troubleshooting stage, especially when dealing with an intermittent problem.

Water pump is new and gauge has never moved a mm, so I am confident that if the engine waterpump was knackered, it would have started to heat up....especially up and 10km steep motorway hill with the horsebox on the back.
