it's quite common for people to check their donut hoses, seem they are fine then move onto other areas only to later find there was a split on the underside or under a clip or both....

many / most times the donut hoses are the problem....

. Cheers, Greg

Looks to me like they have been blowing this is the underside of the hoses and I got a good handful of soot/oil of one of them before taking the pic :/

Silicone hose ordered 👍🏻

The only time I had a RP fault it was these hoses. No particular strange noises but very sooty like your. Swopped to silicon and the problem went away so highly likely this will solve your problem, especially if oil seals have been done as hoses will all have been moved/bent/twisted to do that.

Whilst your at it check the "donut" (the air intake moulding they connect too). This also has a habit of splitting along the seams over time. Wipe with a clean cloth and you will spot soot residue if it is. I am just having mine done today, not a difficult job just the parts price is a Censored

I did consider just getting a new plenum but the seam split is not too common and as you said the price is high, I will check it over though.

Oil seals have been done so agree that may have disturbed something, there was definitely a pressure sensor fault which is resolved and I’ve got hoses coming tomorrow and the star bit to undo the last bolts tonight, this job was on my list but I was hoping it would be preventative rather than essential.

I hope this is the final piece to the puzzle as I’ve had to fix a number of issues and only had it since October 😂😂
