Hi, got in the car today, started the engine and suspension fault came up on the dash ! The 4 x 4 screen shows the rear right wheel ( behind the driver ) with a red dash underneath it. I have attached a photo to show the screen, I connected the IID and got the following fault codes

I reckon sensor or it’s wiring feed. Maybe whip off the wheel and take a gander Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks for the replies much appreciated, I’ve left the car on the drive this evening and when I’ve just went out to check it the car has lowered and looks like it’s in access mode. Would a dodgy or disconnected sensor cause it to do that ? |

If one air bag was leaking ie the rear right one, would the whole car lower or not just that corner. Checked the car this morning and it looks like the whole car is on the bump stops. |

Took the wheel off this morning, cleaned up the height sensor and sprayed with penetrating fluid. Car now rises and lowers as it should but still dropping to the bump stops when left for about 30 minutes ! |

Check the live values. I had a dodgy sensor back right, changed it but had to alter the value with iid tool to level it back up after fitting. |

Hi Lad, thanks for the info. Was your car lowering due to the defected sensor ? Mine seems fine when the engine is running but definitely dropping to bump stops over night. As soon as I start the car the next day it rises automatically to normal height. |

Yes it was dropping over night that’s what got my attention. But just on that corner. I usually lower the suspension when I park it up on the drive. I replaced the sensor but it was still slightly lower at that corner but showing no faults, so I altered the values to level it up with the iid tool. |

Thanks for the replay Lad, I’m wondering if I have another issue as my car is lowering on all four corners. I think the rear right sensor is definitely broke as the dash 4x4 screen shows that wheel lower than the others even when the whole car is raised and pretty level.

Sometimes one faulty sensor can do this, the fatty will wake up and try to level itself every few hours, it gets the wrong info from one sensor and tries to lower the others to get it to where it thinks is level...

Thanks for that Pete, plan is to change the sensor and calibrate the system and hopefully that will cure the issue. |

Finally got round to changing the defective sensor, what a pain removing the two torx bolts ! Very poor design and would have been much easier to do if they were standard bolt head. Sensor now on and suspension calibrated, nice to see the car sit nice and level. |
