Australia 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Orkney Grey

Is this an important plug? Doesn’t look like it’s been used in a whil:

It is for a transit relay.
With your problem it is unlikely a starter, but supply to the starter circuit/relay etc.

I continue to have similar issues after starter/alternator/battery replacement, until I cleaned up the main distribution behind the battery. It has behaved well since.

Update: drove to work today (not far) as it started fine. Went to drive home, just got the click. AA says it’s the starter - had a new LR one a couple months ago. This will be the third starter in 16 months so feels like somethings not right.

Checked the error codes and got this. Can’t seem to find much info other than a wiring failure from the alternator.

B1087-93 (2F) LIN bus A - component failure - no operation.

I thought there were some more joins in the cable between there and the starter?

No real idea though… just seem to remember reading it on here…

I think you're right. Something about a joint somewhere between starter and battery, about half way iirc.

Something is still loose bythe sounds of it. I went ahead and cleaned all the fuses bythe way, These cars are very sensitive to state of charce/drop etc, I also added a second battery and it likes the extra headroom. good luck SOLD | Tuned MY 2011.5 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 Orkney Grey | e-diff | ACC
