Rear light lens replacement

On my L322 2011 I have a badly cracked rear light. I know late model front headlights are a pain to do because they started using a widow type sealer and the bung it in the oven approach doesn’t particularly help. My question is does anyone know if they did the same to the rear lights or has anyone attempted this?

I’ve never done either, but Powerful UK sell just the plastic lenses, so it must be possible.

Copy that, one is on the way. Will report back if this is a

1. Doable job with fingers intact
2. Swear like a sailor for 3 hours or
3. Total Basil Faulty moment, followed by ordering a new light and give myself a good talking to for trying fix it cheap.

Did you try replacing the lens? Did it work?
