Whilst I would not want to make accusations, it could be possible to catch the bag with a tool, it could also be that they raised the vehicle to off road height for access room and the bag just failed at that time.

I had a bag blow when it was up on a scissor lift. You could clearly see it was past its best.

For the last few years as the weather gets colder we have seen a spate of front left suspension air bags go on 2010-2012 models

+1 for just accepting that the bag has failed through old age.

I have found that dirt/mud accumulates high up between the bag and the hard centre section which then rubs the bag eventually cutting little holes in the rubber. For vehicles that mainly stay on sealed surfaces I would expect the verge side one to be more exposed to dirt than the other. My vehicle which travels unsealed, often muddy roads accumulates grit on both sides. I now make a habit of regularly putting the suspension at super-extended height to hose out the dirt. |

Sorry, I meant replacement bags, not repair kits per se. They do just the bag and so you can keep your strut https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/front-ai...-292-c.asp Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory" 2025MY Defender D350 90 in Silicon Silver on coils 1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie" Many, many other Landies over the years My preferred specialist: www.glenrands.co.uk -------------------------------------------------- |
