Ride height sensor - what have I done incorrectly? | |
Hello all,
L322 2006 Vogue AJV8.
At some point when the car was raised for a replacement starter motor, the ride height sensor snapped. The arm sits vertically and the connection between that and the swing arm at the base became disconnected. The initial indicator was that the OSF was sat alone at the raised height.
I superglued the two broken ends together (see photo) but after testing the different heights, the entire system has been deflated and is riding on the bump stops.

I'm not quite certain what has happened, but perhaps I should've disconnected the battery before fixing? Have I somehow messed with the calibration whilst grappling with the loose vertical rod, relative to the other corners?

My immediate aim is to replace the ride height sensor and see if that'll reset the system. However, as I am neither a regular mechanic nor experienced in this system, it's be great to have some guidance from those that might understand the system.
