I am not lucky enough to own a L405, so can’t verify, but the workshop manual ( which is available as a free download from the wiki ) clearly shows separate drain and fill plugs.

BB many thanks, it must be in there deep as i couldn't visually detect anything so likely full of debris, now you have been kind enough to point me in the correct direction i can conclude the transmission service, the gearbox fluid is a messy job, the D3 was a good set up with the oil cooler pipes easily accessible to do a mega flush in one go, 3 liters at a time then a run is not the greatest idea, but better than a £4k gearbox and a lot of sweat and tears.. thanks for the info, much appreciated. You need to remove the brace first.

Yep done... It's off to duckworth Boston to have a 60 month service , can do it myself but best just to keep the service records upto date. |

Not sure why it’s different on my 3.0 TDV6? Seems more straight forward on mine.

For some reason the brace is not fitted to the V6 although the mounting points are there. |

Related but kind of hijacking the tread. Did I dream there was a forum member who drove all around the country to complete this work on people’s drives. Need to get all my fluids done as just passed 80k and deciding how best to arrange as useless with spanners. 2013 L405 AB 4.4SDV8 Luxor/Ivory, 2007 Vogue TDV8 Epson Green/Sand, 2008 Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue/Sand, 2003 Vogue 4.4 LPG Epsom Green/Sage, 1998 Vogue SE 4.6 LPG Epsom Green/Cream |
