It is definitely worth sorting out a convenient way to connect up your CTEK before the inevitable day arrives when you really need to charge the battery., it’s not much use in an emergency if you don’t know how to connect it.

Just to make you green with envy

My Volvo has a light sensor, if it is light enough outside, then it doesn't turn on any interior lights at all.

Radio not so clever, requires position 2 on the key  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Made the mistake of cleaning my car with radio on, this morning, prior to a run to Bodnant Gardens near Conwy. Upshot was that we went in the wife's Micra. No A/C so windows half down on the A55.
Only advantage was near 60 mpg rather than 20 mpg on 140 mile round trip.
Car charged up with Ctek whilst away. Battery new about 6 years ago so.......! Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

Four hours that’s bloody good going with the radio and interior lights on … get a cheap Bluetooth speaker or an Aldi trickle charger when they are on offer £16 Current stable:

By turning off the interior lights the system will stay alive!

When I had my own Car-Detailing busyness I always used a screwdriver or something similar to close the doorlatch, this way the system thinks doors are shut and the whole system shuts down. Now you can leave your door open for days without flattening the battery.
