What’s the best way to hardwire a dashcam. Just got an SDV8 2013, No suitable plugs available.

Run a cable down the passenger side windscreen pillar and into the glovebox - then piggy back fuse.

There’s some threads in the wiki - https://www.fullfatrr.com/wiki/Main_Page

Powerful do a kit that plugs in to the wiring loom in the centre front roof consul where the sunroof button is. Easy to put in as just plug and play. 2019 Autobiography SDV8 Byron blue/black - current

I thought they did a plug & play roof kit for the L322, but I can’t find that either.

nearly all dashcams work on 5volts so you need to keep the 'ciggy plug' on as it converts 12volts to 5volts.. ... - .- -.

You need to buy a hardwire kit.

If your dashcam supports parking guard, you'll need to connect the yellow wire to permanent 12V, red wire to a switched or ignition 12V and the black wire to ground/chassis.

The hardwire kit then gives your USB/5V out to the dashcam.

When I wired mine in, I used one of the spare fuse slots for the permanent 12V, the front accessory socket fuse for the switched 12V and the bolt just to left of the fuse box for the ground.

If your dashcam doesn't support parking guard, you just need to connect to the switched 12V and ground. Kev
