It went in to Guy Salmon (Sheffield) for an Oil Service and MOT - no nasty surprises and sailed through MOT Thumbs Up

Guy Salmon were actually okay, although........the lift back from the dealer (I'd given too short notice for a loaner) wasn't very forthcoming (unlike the VW/Audi dealer we use, who are very attentive) and I had to get them to price match (which they did) another dealer nearby.

They emailed me a natty video of the "health check" they performed part way through the morning - all very natty Thumbs Up

I was going to use my local independent (Doug Dransfield) who looks after my Defender, but decided to keep the main dealer service history for now Thumbs Up

Yesterday I made it work by towing a trailer across fields to get some firewood. Now it just needs to rain hard enough to wash the mud off so I don't have to.

Went to Hassop Hall, near Bakewell for annual pre Christmas Sunday lunch and for Father in-laws Birthday - it was as good as always and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

The RR looked very much at home Smile

Replaced the rear tailgate window gas struts - took all of 5 minutes and I am left wondering why the previous owner never fixed them as one was just sitting there and was used like a prop to keep the window open. Rolling Eyes

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

Yesterday, in to local independent mechanic for oil change and check up. Given a generally clean bill of health with only a side marker light and two filters (air filter and cabin) needed. Thumbs Up

Nice change after all the work recently. Very Happy

Inspected and cleaned the spare wheel area + spare wheel (as new), fixed a couple of tiny cracks on the boot rigid tray (hot weld) then cleaned it all (AG Vinyl and Rubber care), then clayed the rear window, all 4 lights, then AG glass polished them + wing mirror.
checked all fluids and topped up windshield wiper spray level.
took the rear window side rubber trim off as they started to 'bubble' at the very bottom (odd for a 2,5 year old L322...)
''IID tool''ed some extras Thumbs Up
that's it Wink l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

,^^ they all do that sir😜 honestly they do though, have liked at a few and most have the corrosion on the side strips, personally I would just take them off permenantly There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just took them off but it leaves a rather large gap between the window and the D pillar covers.

may simply order some new ones, but i think they were not cheap last time I checked.

I rekon they help with sound insulation (2012 is great on that subject Thumbs Up )

Edit :

price is not too bad then.
parts are :

Must just collect water which then starts the corrosion. A bit of silicone grease when fitting may help with that.

I wonder if they do make a difference to the sound? If so then they may be retrofit to earlier cars to achieve the same effect.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Most likely, unless the 2009 window is slighlty narrower to allow room for them - doubt it though l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l
