Went to work in it for a change.

Soooo much nicer in the morning than the disco, could be due to having put the fbh on before going out!

Have just had the fbh kit from Dan for the disco though! So need to get it fitted and coded in! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

On the weekend

On the weekend, having only had my FFRR for a week, I decided to do a trial fit up of the caravan, electric brake controller and lights test. It all went well some light circuits not working and over the last couple of nights been trying to figure out what the genius auto electrician actually did.

I can't believe what the auto electrician has done in messing with the Fatty installing the electronic brake controller back when it was new (2007). He's cut the ebc feed into the brown wire for tail lights (not service brake pin blue)but then shifted the brown to the hole for blue pin. Then put the blue wire into the reverse light pin (should be black) and then put the black wire into the tail light socket (tail and side lights for caravan)! It's taken me two nights to realize the knuckle head didn't have a clue. Why did I assume he knew what he was doing. It's part restored now, will complete tonight. There is also a feed to the rear plug which I could use for Anderson plug but it only has a 30A fuse fed from the 100A point in right rear. I think I need to upgrade to heavier cable and use a 50A circuit breaker.

Still, I was VERY happy with how it towed compared to D3 V8 HSE, pretty similar but the FFRR seemed more serene.

Bye.

Pete.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thanks Jake, others have said the same but SWMBO insisted that it be this way. Triple bunks at rear for Billy lids and enough space inside to sit us all down. Plus shower/toilet separately as well a "must have" I am told.

Foamer looks the buisness and good result too.

Thumbs Up

I fitted the rubber strips round the rear wheel arches to protect them (thanks Dan) not much damage to date surprisingly but I applied a bit of Kurust and liberal Dinitrol just for good measure and also got the front underwing splashguards to fit better. I also refitted the rear bumper which was not on straight 5 or more mm out in fact, its better but still not perfect.

Whilst I was doing it my old Range Rover turned up with its new owner, SWMBO looked longingly (at car not new owner) as she really likes the red. She'll be happy when I buy my L405, I'll go for red Very Happy just to please her then she won't even notice the £80k.

I explained to new owner of my old car that I had already done the jobs I was on with to my old car Thumbs Up

Right now I'm adding a few more albums to my iPod for in car use and add some to the USB stick - its great being able to connect both an switch between them Very Happy Geoff

Replaced the entire rear window wiper. The one that was on was more or less completely seized due to lack of use because rear wiper motor was humped.
All working fine now. Also cleaned the windows with clay bar - what a difference that makes Smile 2017 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

England

After extracting the FFRR from a block of ice, took an early morning trip up the M3 to Heathrow to drop son off to go to the USA.

Glad I don't have to do that run everyday like wot I used too!

Plenty of roadworks, 50mph most of the way as the M3 becomes a "smart motorway" whatever that is.

Also passed the A322 (forerunner of L322 ? Smile) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
