Hi John i havent yet sorted it no im afraid. There is a green manual release cable in the boot area if you remove the cover pull it and it pulls back the plastic bolt. I can open mine if i unlock the car and quickly pull the flap as the plastic bolt goes back and the comes forward a bit. I then need to lock then unlock the car with the flap practically closed resting on the bolt to lock it again. A pain but its workable! You can buy a new or used actuator off ebay but i havent looked at how to remove the old one but think thats what i am ultimately going to have to do. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue |

I had a similar problem - although mine wouldn’t lock rather than unlock.

What I did was open the fuel flap then with it open lock the car and watch the plunger mine was coming out but bringing the sheath with it so when it was opened it didn't retract fully - one identified just put a dab of silicon on to hold it it

Hi I never did get round to fixing it yet. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes not, so learned to live with it but will need doing at some point. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue |

My problem is sorted out, not sure for how long though. I manually pulled the emergency handle to open the flap door. It’s in the right side side of the trunk, you’ll see the handle once you remove the panel. And after that plunger started moving properly |

I found that if you press the unlock button on the key just before trying to open the flap it retracts the pin enough to let you open it, I’ve got to get it adjusted but it works most of the time 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8
