£10k Budget - Advice/Recommendations on best 4x4?

I've got around a £10k budget to replace my L322 with a head gasket problem.

What's the best 4x4 I can get for that? It has to be a large 4x4 capable of towing 3T or more, as I tow boats.

The obvious options are:

Range Rover Vogue 3.6 (like I've got a the moment but newer and lower miles) (<100k)
Range Rover 4.4 diesel (higher miles I.e. 130k+)
Range Rover Vogue/Sport 3.0 TDV6 (c.110k)
Audi Q7 - presumably there's a 3L V6 diesel
Porsche Cayenne 3.0 V6 petrol
Volvo XC90 D5

Air cooled seats are a must for me so, this does really limit me to the Range Rovers i'd imagine?

What's the best and most reliable car I can get for around that money, considering age and mileages? I am only looking at 1/2 owner cars (3 at a push), private sales and preferably full service history. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I know that some versions of the Grand Cherokee came with cooled front seats and should be in your price range. I think they’ll tow 3t but not 100% certain.

That's a big list of must haves for £10k, especially the price cars are right now.

Air cooled seats limit you to Vogue SE and above, unless someone has specc'ed them on a Vogue (never seen that).

I reckon you'd need to increase your mileage expectations to get as low as 10k.

Also, most cars at that mileage and age are unlikely to have a FULL service history, so if you can find such a creature, ask them for a bag of unicorn dust as well Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Disco 3’s with under 100k or Disco 4’s with over 100k? But you probably won’t get cooled seats.

I've seen many Vogues with air cooled seats, including my current car. The list is quite realistic - I've seen quite a few 3.6L Vogues for £8-10k all with 110k or below. I've seen 4.4L diesels coming in around £11k wity around 130k but I'm sure with the person, you can get those close to £10k.

Is the 4.4L worth the jump? Is it a better engine, quieter, smoother, DPF problems? Etc 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

is it not worth repairing your existing L322 using some of the 10k?

Cooled seats also on Westminster, but might struggle with the about 10k limit. Make sure they work. Just got quoted 1k to fix the heated/cooled seat functionality on my drivers seat

I think realistically, I'm looking at another L322 or a Sport.

So how about engines? 3.6L TDV8 vs 4.4L TDV8? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

4.4 TDV8 every day. Even with higher miles. 8 speed box is sublime, and the engine epic. I skipped the 3.6... didn’t want the worry of turbo issues.

Folk go on about DPF... ive done 2500miles in 2 years, no issues. Just make sure you give it a blast out regularly.

There have been a few threads comparing them.

As for the others.... I’d look at the Volvo or maybe a Disco 3 or 4? As folk mentioned earlier. Again, not sure about the cooled seat situation.

Yes, cooled seats never an option on a D3/4.

Do you mean 25,000?

I think if a 2010 3.6 is around £10k, I'd rather spend just that smidge more to get a 2011 4.4, mainly for the 8 speed ZF box. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

TDV8 4.4 is a great engine and gearbox combo. I've done 40k miles in 2 years and unfortunately have the bills to prove it. But for a great place to be and smooth driving experience I doubt anything else comes close under £30k

No mate, 2513 miles in 2 years.

Both Lockdown and working from home conspired to reduce it....
