Another Question:

If you wrap a car in a gloss colour, do you still need to polish or wax it like you do paint?

The way I see it, the vinyl will still get swirl marks like paint would, but they can't be polished out?

How does it work? Discovery 4 HSE

Right you know when your wife puts a vinyl tablecoth down when your eating spag bol?

Then after she just wipes it clean with a soapy cloth and it sparkles clean....

You cannot polish a turd or vinyl as far as I know Laughing

As far as I know there is a Swissvax product to remove oily spots and shining from the matte vinyl, but I don't think such thing exists for glossy one!

On the Totally Dynamic website it says:

"No Paint, No Mess, No Need to contact the DVLA!

DVLA
Vinyl car wraps are deemed a temporary colour change by the DVLA, which means that unlike a re-spray, you do not need to let them know your vehicle has undergone a stunning transformation.

gary , go for it mate and be the first to do this here on the forum [on a range richard]......

All badges are removed at the preparation stage prior to the vehicle being wrapped. These can be re-applied after the wrap is completed or at the clients request these can be left of. In the past some of our clients have brought new badges which we have applied to the vehicle.

I don't like that one bit. Carbo wraps are for RS500s and Nissan GT-Rs IMHO.

Have to say I totally agree Fox. What an awful thing to do to something with so much class !

Looks like the mk2 escorts that used to run around in the 70's & 80's when everyone used to respray their own crappy vehicles. Many, in those days, left in the undercoat/primer cause they couldn't afford to finish the job in gloss, which looks like that !
Not for me, but everyones entitled to their own choice....... Sad

For those of you who like it wrapped - http://www.reverelondon.com/flash.htm

click on land rover & you'll see the FFRR & Sports & Disco

There's a full chromed sport for those who like to see their own reflection in the panels !
Also a matt red.

OK decided I am going ahead with a "Alaska White Wrap" Project on one of my TDV8 stock so which would look/feel better:

Alaska White white with Sand Seats/Jet Piping/Jet-Sand Interior

Alaska White with Dark Blue Seats/Ivory Piping/Blue-Ivory interior

IMHO both would look nice so cannot decide??

Also:

Standard 19" 2010+ Wheels

Standard Supercharged 2007-2009 Wheels re-finished in dark grey.

Help appreciated Thumbs Up
