Tow hitch circuit breaker

Hi everyone,

had a labour intensive weekend Laughing
Did rust repairs and i stalled a Westfalia tow hitch!

Short question, as I bought one from the scrap yard - is there a need for a circuit braker?

thank you 🙋🏼‍♂️

No, the wiring should just plug into a module in the right hand boot cubby, the module for the trailer on a 2004 is a box about the size of a packet of cigarettes. If you have a genuine harness then this should just be plug and play, plus a bit of telling the CCf there is a to leave fitted. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thank you - that’s what I did - it fitted right next to the circuit break in the boot!
However Rave says that there are a few breakers that need to be added!

CCF programming necessary on a ‘04? Thought it was only necessary from 2010 onwards!

Cheers

It’s a grey area.... if it works I wouldn’t worry.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Haven’t tried it yet! Just wanted to make sure to take fuses with me when I will pick up the trailer!
IID Tool I have with me anyway - so I’ll double check if it recognises the trailer ECU!

Any other instructions when installing the original 7-pin kit?

Cheers
