Are the lighter sockets switched or permanent live 2007 3.6?

Hi guys
I’m looking to hard wire in a Bluetooth to aux input adaptor and wondering if anyone can confirm if any of the 12v sockets are switched so they turn off with the car?

I believe they are always live on a 2007 car. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thanks, I had a feeling this was the case leaving a fm Bluetooth adaptor plugged in and could still connect to it from my phone 30 minutes after locking the car

It’s only the 2010 facelifted cars where the sockets power off.

Right pain 🤣

Pretty sure mine are switched as I’ve got no power when the ignition is off but the one in the boot is permanent live- I found this out when pumping up my tyres and had to have the ignition on before it worked- except the boot one- that worked from the off 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

I agree. Only the socket in the boot is permanently live, all the others in my 2007 switch on/off with ignition.

The boot socket on mine is not permanent as I was trying to use this to test battery voltage and plugged in an extension to the outside of the car to measure voltage after shutdown and being left overnight. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The heated steering wheel fuse is switched and because it doesn't run any sensitive equipment, is an ideal fuse to tap off (even the same applies on brand new cars).

The 12V socket to the centre console armrest should also be switched (note the others are not, including the one directly in front in the ash stray) on the 2006 - 2010.

I always use the heated steering wheel fuse for dash cams for that reason, because I want a switched live.

Here's an article I wrote and there are photos of both the 2006-> fusebox and 2011-> fuse box (it's for wiring a dash cam but could apply to wiring anything): https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic60391.html

HOWEVER

I think what you're actually looking for is this other article I wrote on how to wire a Bluetooth adapter and Aux cable (again, for either the 2006-> or 2011->, as I have done the job on both):

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic60408.html

It's a cheap and cheerful but professional looking alternative to the expensive ipod adapter (which was added in 2011 cars).

-----

If the 12V inside your armrest isn't switched, then I'd do a hybrid of my two articles - I'd put the bluetooth adapter and cabling in the side of the dash where I install the transformer for the dash cams so there's easy access then, I'd tuck a 3.5mm cable up the side of the transmission tunnel to your AUX input. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Most of the 12V sockets appear to be "permanent" but actually turn off when the Body Control Module times out, including the one in the boot. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
