I had this on one of my rear doors. Door would still unlock when pulling on the door handle.

Needed a new actuator - think that's the little motor in the door that locks/unlocks the door.

About £200 done at an independent

You can still open it by pulling on the interior handle though right?

I had both rear door latches on my TD6 replaced as they failed within weeks of each other.

I seem to remember something can be done if you open the rear door you can then get to something on the edge of the front door near the latch.....

Yes, that’s it Stan. Luckily I’ve not had to do that.

Though if it’s a one chance thing, you might be better already having the new door latch ready for when the door opens.

Hopefully you can get in and you won’t have to smash your door card up.....

That’s good. I’d get the latch swapped or the issue resolved whilst the door is open.....

Or at least get the door card off! Then, if it all goes pear-shaped, you'll still be able to open the door from the inside.

The snib (sill button) is disabled when the car is locked. Pulling up on it won't unlock the door. It's designed that way. When you get the lock out of the car, you'll be able to see why.

I've replaced two door latches this year, front passenger (left) and right rear. Ron B. VK2OTC
