The fill pipe runs down the front of the right rear wheel arch behind the arch shield, does it drip all the time or just after filling..? Pete

I would guess someone has had one of the two opening in the top of the tank open and not shut them properly, there is a rubber gasket which looks like it can be fitted both ways but in fact has a correct way round. If you totally fill the tank till the pump shuts off the petrol in the pipe will leak out the top of the tank and then petrol will splash out the tank till the level drops..

The rubber seal is slightly wider one side than the other, the thicker side goes upwards, there is a special tool to undo the retaining ring but a hammer and punch works if you are careful, it is a standard right hand thread... The seal is one of those that you chase around the opening thinking this will never fit, it seems too big, it will settle down and go in eventually, handy if someone else holds the filter assembly

The part you are looking at in the top of the tank is the filter, the pump is in the bottom of the tank connected to the filter with a pipe and wiring.
