My TD6 oil filters only come with the larger 'O' ring and Al or Cu ring

Buy the kits with various sizes of 'O' rings, I have metric and imperial kits, NBR / Viton / Nitrile, also kits to make up my own larger 'O rings. Get good quality kits and select the right material for the intended application.

Never stuck this way.

Use these kits at sea, and also make our own larger 'O' rings, when we do not have an original spares, very rarely have any trouble with these kits. Thumbs Up

rovers to day told me they had the O ring for the TD6, $6
i went and had a look, but it was a different size RR 2005 4.4 petrol

$6 Woohoo, then wrong size Banging Head Murphy's law strikes again.

As mentioned buy a generic kit with multiple sizes of 'O' rings ( NBR is OK for this ) and you should find one to fit.
Kits are not expensive. Some people shy away from them, but I have used these on hydraulic systems with 1600 bar pressure and had no trouble. Thumbs Up

Bonus is then having lots of spare 'O' rings for other cars, tractors and boring stuff like washing machines etc Thumbs Up

I forgot to get back to you about this. I checked the filters at the workshop and none have the small o-ring.
